At Khiron we see meeting the CQC standards as a minimum baseline, and our aspirations are to provide a level of service, care and treatment that is better even than a CQC ‘outstanding’ would merit.
CQC inspectors and their measurements do not look for the attributes of a service that is specifically designed and delivered to help people who are trying to recover from trauma. When people are undergoing trauma treatment, they are often hypersensitive to aspects of the environment that could dysregulate their nervous systems and be detrimental to their treatment.
This includes a wide range of stimuli, from unexpected noises to changes in staff, from fear of strangers to too much contact with the external world.
