These outpatient programmes are suited to clients who can, and need to, continue with daily responsibilities outside of treatment, such as work or childcare.
We design our day programmes to meet your specific treatment needs. Our programmes include four different pricing options.
4 or 5 days per week:
During your 4-day or 5-day programme, you will engage in two one-to-one (individual) therapy sessions per week. You will also engage in a broad range of group sessions and activities, each of which supports your short and long-term recovery goals.
2 or 3 days per week:
If you opt for a 2 or 3-day per week programme, you will have one individual therapy session per week. You will also engage in the group sessions and activities that feature as an integral part of our day programmes.
Our day programmes begin at 10 am and finish at 4pm
You will engage in your individual therapy session(s), coaching sessions, as well as group sessions and activities throughout the day.
Group and family-based therapies support healing by offering emotional support to clients. Group therapies allow clients to share their stories and listen to those of others. This reduces the feelings of loneliness and isolation that can occur alongside psychological trauma.
Family-based therapies consider the family dynamic and the impact it has on the individual. Where appropriate, specific family members join therapy to help foster healthy communication, understanding, and collaboration in the client’s recovery efforts.
Psychoeducation
Psychoeducation is a powerful healing tool. In sessions, clients learn about the mechanisms, origins, and effects of trauma. Psychoeducation helps to normalise the trauma experience and allows clients to increase their ability to tolerate traumatic stress.
Mindfulness
Mindfulness is a powerful tool we can use to develop our emotional strength and resilience. Mindfulness practice is suitable for people of all kinds. It cultivates present moment awareness and acceptance, ultimately helping you to better tolerate complex or challenging thoughts and memories and equip you to overcome cravings and other compulsive, fear-driven behaviours.
Somatic Resources Group
As part of your day programme, you will engage in our Somatic Resources Group, during which you work with a therapist and other clients to explore and gain a deeper understanding of your bodily sensations and the messages those sensations are trying to tell you.
Art/Drama Therapy
Art and drama therapies are known as expressive arts therapies. These modalities engage our innate creativity in treatment. They help us explore our thoughts, beliefs, and trauma narratives in a safe space with the support of trained facilitators and other group members.
We offer a range of specific groups, which you will be assigned to based on your individual treatment needs. Trauma, addiction, and other mental and behavioural health issues affect us all in different ways, so you might benefit from one group more than another. Specific group session in our day programmes include:
Khiron’s daycare IOP programmes provide recovery-based, solution-focused treatments and services to adults struggling with trauma. During treatment, clients engage in in-depth psychoeducation and structured individual and group activities to help them process their past traumas.
Trauma, addiction and other mental health issues jeopardise our ability to manage and enjoy our lives. Stress and low distress tolerance are common to mental and behavioural health conditions. During your daycare IOP programme at Khiron, you will learn invaluable life skills to help you manage yourself and your condition so that you can live your life to its fullest potential.
If trauma and its associated symptoms have taken over your life, we can help you. When you come to Khiron, we provide evidence-based, trauma-informed treatment delivered with compassion and diligence.
We aim to help each and every client restore themselves to health and happiness. Know that recovery from trauma is possible as long as you seek professional support.
To further support our clients and their families, Khiron is now offering The Family Workshop, a three-hour psychoeducation, somatic-oriented and trauma-informed workshop. It is designed to meet family systems needs and to support the reintegration of family members back into the family unit, helping to get to the most out of our client’s progress made in the programme.
