Is really a question of"re-framing" stress, stress in some cases has its uses as in exam situations when it can give one an"edge" on thinking fast and remembering!
I did not see the video I would like to,please.
Very stimulating stuff,thank you

Would be good to know more about 'positive points' and how to calibrate the logical front brain with the primitive reptilian brain.
I didn't see the article about "pulling yourself together" and indeed if you use the example and stand outside yourself to observe you feeling the feeling, rather than just I feel X, the difference is profound

In reply to <a href="http://khironhouse.dev.fl9.uk/blog/so-what-exactly-is-stress/#comment-75">Fi</a>.

I think it is about welcoming the body's response to stress rather than rejecting it. This is rather different to trying to avoid or ignore it (which is what I take from "pull yourself together"). Have you seen the video? It perhaps says it much better than we summarise...

Interesting if a bit simplistic! Just change the way we view stress is like the old adage:"pull yourself together" when I see patients who tell me this is what family and friends are always telling them, the ridiculously reply is,don't you think that if I could. Would!
In edu-k we use among other thing "the positive points"which re calibrate the logical front brain with the primitive reptilian back brain and very quickly and painlessly we can gain control and stop the headless chicken feeling(so uncontrollable and frightening )
Yet another way of looking at an old problem
