I have noticed that there were a limited number of places offered initially for this two day CPD which would normally cost, in my experience £150 per day in London, with delegates providing their own lunch on top, or visiting local restaurants at their own expense with groups of other delegates getting to know each other. In my practice that has always been allowed for and enjoyed because that workshop opportunity had relevance to my clinical development.
I saw initially, when the email came into my inbox that the price for the two days was fixed and having the lunch included in the price seemed like a wonderful bonus for booking before all the places were filled.
Somewhere along the line, the number of opportunities for delegates to benefit from this workshop has overtaken the catering capacity.
For anyone who attends day trainings in London, the 2 days workshop represents good value at about £100 less over two days than one would normally expect to pay without lunch. Those savings alone would cover a very engaged and sociable lunchtime too.
It is a shame that feelings have become so high over what seems to be the 'haves and havenots, with the focus coming off the important anticipation of the quality CPD on offer.
If anyone finds that they cannot let it go, I would be happy to offer my lunch place on one of the days, just to have this matter settled.

I look forward to meeting many people on the day and fully benefit from the experience of this emminent speaker and groups of co-attendees.

Best and warm wishes, Carol.

I have read the comments listed and what I have noticed for myself is the unfairness of offering one price for two different things. I have emailed Colleen DeRango to suggest that the people who have paid the full price without a 3 course lunch be offered a voucher for the same or similar value as the 3 course lunch at a local café/restaurant. That way everyone is provided with lunch. I am travelling from out of town so to have a meal provided is important for me as I would imagine it is for others. Also response by Benjamin on Oct 29 - Are we being refunded £10 for each day, because I couldn't imagine £10 covering a 3 course lunch for both days? Warmest wishes

For me it is certainly nice to have lunch included in the price and I imagine most (but not all) people would be happy with this. Benjamin asks "How would you feel if you had bought a ticket when this (i.e. not having lunch) was not an option but did not want the lunch?" (My words in brackets).
The obvious answer would be that then a reduction should be offered. In fact it could be argued it would be discriminatory not to. After all some people have no option but to bring their own lunch if they are on a highly restrictive diet or are allergic to many foods. Providing lunch is, to me, a really nice idea, but then I have no allergies and no digestive system disorder.

What discount would you suggest? How would you feel if you had bought a ticket when this was not an option but did not want the lunch?

It seems inequitable to offer two different products for the same price.

It makes it prohibitive for some of us to pay for training that includes a 3 course lunch, only to have to purchase lunch for ourselves, for two days.

Thank you for asking. Since we have not offered a cheaper option without lunch to other ticket holders before we sold out we think it would be inequitable to offer a cheaper option now. I hope that is understandable and that the workshop still remains good value for money relative to such workshops in general.
